KEY tries to prevent homelessness by working with young people in local schools and youth clubs:
Raising the awareness of pupils in Years 10 and 11 of the difficulties and problems of leaving home at a young age and helping them to explore the issues surrounding youth homelessness in creative and lively ways.
Asking schools to contribute to Emergency Packs of basic foodstuffs and toiletries which we distribute to homeless and vulnerable young people. Collections for these usually take place around spring time, Harvest Festival and before Christmas.
Providing useful resources such as our Homelessness Sunday Resource Pack.
Speaking at school assemblies and youth groups.
Providing information and links to other organizations.
