    Operate two refuges in Sunderland and Washington, plus an emergency assess unit for young women who are homeless due to emotional, sexual or physical abuse, usually 16-19 years old but will take younger women if Social Services are involved and if they agree to pay for bed space. It is often safer to move women/ children out of the immediate area, as men often know where the local refuge is situated.
